Poems and Poetry

Downtown | A Poem by Ananya S. Guha

Whatever it is, walking downtown
is a shade less easy than walking in these narrow lanes, with their
bumps and street lights suddenly going out.
Shady characters on the prowl.
so I go out in open spaces, wide wide roads, with people hooting on
pavement, like the cars.
