Poems and Poetry

You | A Poem by Marie MacSweeney

Your face is a startling pause
where the moon’s light bends.
It always surprises me.

I see you in the centre
of a deep forest
when you wander
into the crowded world.

You are a fish in the sea
and only in my arms
are you ever still.
