Pure Driven Lust | A Poem by G.S. Katz

I took you straight up
Against the wall, on the bed
Anywhere you would receive me
Pure driven lust
It was great while you needed raw
Then you ruined it with emotions and feelings
Sounds shallow
Sounds callous
It is
That’s what made it great
If you wanted love with your lust
Get it at home
Not from me, your edge of desire

reading this last poem on carnality and love. for me the lust you refer to is the primal attempt to transmute to love through the base flesh, ie to possess to be at one. i think of yeats…”what hurts my soul my soul adores, no better than a beast upon all fours” i admit to see the right woman in the right setting is a powerful attraction to that tiny part of the brain-where would we be without it eh? certainly a much smaller global population? on second thoughts we could probably do with another planet as well?
