Poems and Poetry

Cello Music | A Poem by Robin Wyatt Dunn

god that’s beautiful
the sound of it in the room
like the end of civilization
like love is something that went away
not sure to return
and more beautiful for that
more believable

like fate is a mystery that awaits most men
on their 40th birthday
cheerfully in a funny hat
dancing slowly

saying

I thought I knew you
but I didn’t, not quite
you were surprising to me
you did things I still don’t want to talk about

here’s to you
