The Arrow | A Poem by Naduni

Like an arrow
How did you flee
What made you flee
From my battlefield?
Like a shooting star
How did you flee
What made you flee
From my world?
‘Love’ said to be
The eternal medicine
The eternal joy
The eternal truth;
To me now seems
The eternal drug
The eternal feeling
The eternal phenomenon
That wounds, hurts and cheats
In the speed of an arrow

A person may come into our lives at the speed of an arrow
He may become so special to us at the speed of an arrow
If we do not deserve him, he may disappear at the speed of an arrow
Just the same it would hurt us as if our hearts are dug by an arrow
Everything will happen and end at a glance. That is the speed of an arrow.
