Home Remedy. A Poem by Ivan Jenson

You are quite resourceful
when you are remorseful
because it is then
you access the source
material
of your sorrow
and gauge if it is worth
gouging your eyes out
or if it is simply a
temporary trespassing
tragedy that can be
buck shot with
a vodka shot
and some salt
from your tear ducts
and a few
cheers to you
and your
pretty pity fest
culminating in
a make-out session
with a sensational
stranger sitting
on a bar stool
next to you
perched and fluttering
like the dove of love
which I will
(after a poetic disclaimer)
rhyme with
your now
brand new
blue skies
above
